Michael Caines at ABode review by G F Baxter
I booked into Abode, Glasgow on a conference visit recently, not aware that the hotel restaurant would provide such a fabulous dining experience. Eating alone is seldom enjoyable but so great was the entire experience of eating here that I did not want the meal to end. Food was among the best I have eaten anywhere: expertly cooked, imaginative combinations and beautifully presented. The wine list was not over-extensive or tending towards the wildly expensive: it offered more than enough choice in half-bottles of fine red and a good selection by the glass. Service was faultless: friendly, not too stiff and provided a perfectly-judged balance between prompt attention and enough time to enjoy the food and the atmosphere of the room. I could go on and on but will finish by saying that new restaurants come and go. This one deserves to last at least as long as Rogano, Glasgow's other fine-dining experience. I can't wait to return.
