I read the various reviews on ARTA, Glasgow with interest and thought that many of the negative comments would be unjustified. To my sadness they were correct. We unfortunately booked a table for 8 on Saturday 15th March 2008 to celebrate both a friends birthday and to welcome a friend from Australia. In my opinion I would rate the value for money for this outlet at around 3 out of 10 for food. The surrounding were beautiful, the serving staff were friendly but the food was very poor. I started with a chicken kebab on cous cous followed by a chicken pizza which was cold disgusting. When I returned the pizza it was brought back to me with a rubbery texture which you could expect from overcooking in a microwave - NOT what you would expect from a respectable restaurant. As far as the dessert was concerned I had panacotta which tasted more like a badly prepared angel delight.. Great place for a drink, avoid it for food !

Went to Arta with my boyfriend for the tapas sundays - really good value, especially if you are a student :) however, menu could be slightly bigger! Also, there was hardly anyone there and the room was very very cold!
however, I think it would be really good if you were in a group (and wearing cardigans)

my sister got married there, and it was beautiful. The food was 10/10. It was the best wedding I have ever been at.

Avoid at all costs!
We had an office night out including a meal at Arta. As with other reviews I read, we were an hour and half waiting for our first course to arrive. When we placed our order at 7.30 on Friday the 26th Jan, 5 people ordered halibut, only to be told they only had 3. They then proceeded to run out of prawns, chicken, sea-bass. One person was offered bread and butter because they had forgotten the main course. The plates were cold, the food was only partially warm, though they kindly offered to place it back in the microwave!I could see that no services were being taken out of the kitchen area despite the restaurant being full. Speaking to 2 other groups of diners, they too said they had received no meal, and that few dishes were available. I took the matter up with the head-waiter, who told me that they did have problems with large parties! I asked why he had taken the booking, and those of the other 2 parties, and he said that it was his boss and not his fault! I told him that I had read other bad reviews, and that I too would post one,he then refused to speak to me anymore on the matter.Suffice to say I would warn anyone else to steer well clear, unless you like cold, crap meals, slow service, choice of meal at the restaurants discretion.

Christmas Night Out 22nd December
We were 45 minutes late in being seated, had a £50 service charge added to our drinks bill which we did not pay and then were hurried out at the end of the meal before we could finish our coffee. Attitude of staff was very poor. Would not return and certainly will not be recommending Arta to anyone

We had our wedding reception in Arta on 5th November 2004 and the whole day was perfect. We decided to return to Arta for dinner on our first anniversary expecting the same level of service. When we got there the doorman refused to let us in implying we were lying about having a dinner reservation. When we finally got in the whole experience from start to finish was awful. I even saw the barman taking ice out of somebodys drink using his fingers! I was left feeling very upset by the whole experience and would NEVER reccommend this place to anyone!
