I've read previous reviews on this site about poor service, poor food, rude staff etc and must say i have to disagree. Our family have been going to this restaurant for years and found it to be excellent value. The staff are always curteous and attentive. I think most of these reviews are malicious to say the least. We've eaten in some very poor restaurants in Glasgow and dont see them coming in for the criticism that this restaurant gets. Undeservedly.

Service at this restaurant is very poor. Glasgow has some great restaurants, but this isn't one of them. Just dined there tonight, waited eternity for meal with no explanation or apology. Food was average at best, and waitress was rude when I dared to complain. 10% service charge added to bill which I obviously didn't pay. Would advise anyone considering dining here to think again.

6 of us visited this restaurant on Wednesday 8th June to take advantage of their 3 course special for £10.50. Absolutely delicious. All of us had ribs for starters and steaks for mains. It was the best ribs I have ever tasted. The steaks where perfectly cooked and the pepper sauce was amazing. Desserts are all home made and didn't dissapoint. It was easy to see why this place was so busy. Sevice was pleasant and curteous. You must try.

I visited sizzlers on 8/06/11 with my girlfriend and her father....if you cant be bothered reading my full rant scroll to bottom and you will get the jist.

By far one of the worst dining experiences I have had in Glasgow. We were enticed by the 3 course pre theatre menu for £10.95 pp.

We were the only table inside with one family just finished dining outside. Yet the service was awful. When our mains arrived, 3 steaks, the waiter put them down on a serving tray and just then the phone rang. So, while our steaks "sizzled" away on the serving plate the phone rang and the waiter answered and proceded to take a booking while our mains got colder and colder. Then when we were served the waiter got the steaks mixed up meaning my girlfriend cut into a medium rare which nearly made her sick as she does not like blood on her plate.

The onion ring side we ordered took 10 minutes to arrive after our mains were out.

We asked if we could swap our desserts for liquers or coffee liquers as we did not want anymore food after the mediocracy of the first two meals. The waiter said he would ask the manager, came back and said we could have coffee liquers. We ordered 3 irish coffees only to have the manager then come out and say no they couldnt give us them, they only substitue desserts for coffee. Awful customer service.

This is my second time and final time I will be visiting this establishment as it was bad the first time, gave it the benefit of the doubt and it let me down.

Awful service. Bland food. Dont waste your money.

Six of us went here for my sons birthday. General cleanliness not very good . Table and cutlery. The guiness was warm , Ribs were not very hot or marinated. steak ok, mushrooms disintegrated, about six chjps in a bowl, baked potato was very small, Not what we expected from a steakhouse and the ads.

Didn't notice anything about service charge being optional! an extra fifteen pounds added to bill. Why? The place was empty.

Will not be back here again .

This place does not live up to its advertising . Should have gone to La Fiorentina.

okay me and my partner have been here twice , and i agree and dissagree with some of the reviews here , i find the food fantastic !! both time we have been the steaks are cooked really well and starter and desserts were really good , not about the service , i did find up to standard , while ordering drinks - me a french martini and my partner a corona , his corona arrived while i was waiting for my drink for 10 mins asked where it was to be told that they were out of pineapple juice , which wouldnt have annoyed me if i was told this before . so i ordered a mojito, now with the service charge , i believe shouldnt be added onto the bill , and it doesnt seem optional as it is added to the bill , we were 100 pounds on our bill so 10% of that is quite alot and from the service we had i wouldnt have tipped anywhere near that , but other wise i like a really good steak and they do that !! the steaks are amazing !! .

Food is lovely, melon starter taste beautiful, although small portion. Steak is always great + the staff are nice. Especially one guy, he is always very pleasant + welcoming. I have recommended this place to many of my friends. All in all its my favourite place to eat. Yum!

My husband and i dined here after walking out of the awful place next door, where we waited for 50 mins for starters in a half full restaurant. we were seated immediately and served our food within 15mins and it looked pretty much full. Our steaks were both cooked as ordered and were of a good quality. We shared a cheesecake between us and it too was delicious.

I would like to add about the service charge-was roughly what we would have tipped regardless so i personally found it acceptable.

I've been to sizzlers many times and the food and service are always excellent. I would comment that there is an OPTIONAL service charge that you dont have to pay.
