The Ubiquitous Chip

we recently had a dinner in the restarant for about 12 people. We found that the food was excessively over priced and the steak in particular was VERY poor considering the cost. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Ubiquitous Chip is such a let down. At our dinner we were treated with such disrespect in the almost empty weekend dining room. If you like your restaurants pompous and pretentious with a side order of contemptible self regard, this is right up there. Surprised 'old rope' didn't feature on the menu as a starter, main course and dessert!

The last time that I ate in the chip, was the first time! I was there with a group of 4 girlfriends and we had an amazing night. The waiters were fantastic, very attentive and extremely helpfull.
The food was served quickly and was well presented, it was quite pricey but as it was a special occasion we did not mind at all.
I was at the chip last weekend and it was busier than on my previous visit. I did feel that we were sat at an emergency table (tables only brought out and squeezed into the dining area when the restaurant is full) and this did take away from my night slightly. The wait in between meals was actually too long but the food was still good and the chocolate brownie cake was the BEST chocolate dessert that I have ever tasted, well done the cake chef!!!
Please try Chateau la Clyde, just for the comic value if nothing else.
I would highly recommend to anyone I meet that if they are planning a visit to Glasgow, the 'Ooby Chip' is the place to eat I just hope their table is not next to the loo too.
