La Parmigiana

WOW! This place was absolutely astounding. We came into a tiny restaurant that was absolutely packed and were greeted by extremely pleasant staff. The food was out of this world and a lovely bottle of wine helped to wash it all down. I think it was less expensive than a lot of other places I've been to in Glasgow but this is now by far my favourite in the city.
La Parmigiana is Wonderfull!!!

We had the most wonderful meal at La Parmigana, great service and great wine. I had a Salad of Mediterranean Roast Vegetables, with Goat’s Cheese and a Balsamic Vinegar & Olive Oil Dressing, and followed that with Stuffed Roast Veal. What can I say? Excellent! My wife had Chicken Liver Pâté followed by Poached Fillet of Sole with Smoked Salmon and Rockett served with Creamed Potatoes. We both had Italian Apple Crmble, and a bottle of fabulous Pinot Grigio. Total cost £55. Great value and will definately return. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I went for dinner last night and were delighted by the wonderful dining experience that we had. The place was buzzing, we sat next to Diomansy Kamara and his wife, and even though I support the other team from Glasgow, it was good to be in the company of those and such as those.
We had lobster Ravioli and pasta with Prawns to start which were fabulous, I then had a Grilled dover sole which was as fresh as could be and my wife had seafood risotto which was perfect. The house wine was a Scicilian white of excellent quality and very well priced at £17.80. We were too stuffed to have dessert but next time we definetely will. I have already reserved for next week.
The quality of the food and service at La Parmigana certainly puts the other top restaurants in Glasgow into perspective, leaving this one at the top. Well done Parmigana

1 word...SHOCKING !
Rude and downright cheeky staff. Food was bland, and tepid.
Give it a miss !

Had a great meal for extended family gathering over the festive period. No complaitns over qualty of food, service or the bill. On the contrary, the atmosphere, food and service made for a memorable evening and I would readily recommend La Parmigiana to anyone with a taste for good Italian food and wine.

For me this restaurant was fantastic and I would say one of the better restaurants in Glasgow. If the previous reviews are honest, then this restaurant has made major improvements as I would give everything 10 out of 10.
Definately a restaurant to go to!

Surly, unfriendly, indifferent service. 'Front of House' staff need training in how to smile, make guests welcome and provide good service.
For an AA 2 Rosette rating, the restaurant is poor and seriously overpriced (our meal for 3 adults was £170, 3 courses, one bottle house wine, tip not given).
We have eaten extensively throughout the world and at some fine dining establishments. Our summary for this place is SURLY ATTITUDE, INDIFFERENCE TOWARDS THE CUSTOMER and POOR VALUE FOR MONEY.
How this restaurant has survived a 'credit crunch' and a deep recesssion makes you ask certain questions to which I would not hazard any answers.

On entrance we were ignored and gruffly pointed in the direction of our table by a clearly uninterested maitre D. No-one offered to take our jackets at any point. We had to ask several times for water to be brought to our table and when my mother asked for a glass of white wine to accompany her starter she was ignored - you had to practically shout to get the waiters attention - he stood back disinterested as if we were inconveniencing him.
Starters were mixed. Lobster ravioli didnt taste of lobster and was smothered in a bright orange marscapone sauce reminiscent of a supermarket jar. Scallops were adequate albeit uninspiring with a few sorry leaves of Rocket and over powering balsamic dressing. Ravioli with spinach and ricotta was ok but struggling to see the value at £10. For mains we had a fillet steak and Chateaubriand (for 2). Latter was served cold and already allocated between 2 plates with "red jus" - ie. red vinegar sauce - v unappetising indeed and spoiled the quality of the meat (which to be fair was of a high quality). Fillet steak was fine. Vegetables consisted of a small shared plate of frozen vegetables - has the chef ever considered the concept of seasoning? Desserts were of a good quality and fairly priced. Overall, this was a highly mediocre meal yet at the upper end price wise (£170 for 3 with one bottle of house wine) - such surly disinterested service is wholly unacceptable and ruined our evening. Do not recommend - avoid!

None of the bad reviews for this restaurant is justified. It is excellent in almost every way and is up there with some of the top restaurants in London.
The food is excellent and very well priced. Lobster ravioli for a starter and the veal for the main is highly recommended.
The waiters are friendly and the chef occasionally make an appearance, which shows pride in his ability to produce excellent food.
There are down sides, like the menu never changing and the fact there is not enough choice, and dare I say it....no vegitarian option
