we have beeing to the Amarone Restaurant and it was very nice, all the staff from the waitress to the manager very kind the food cooked right the risotto was not overcooked the frittura mista simply delicious and not oily at all as an Italian living in Scotland I very often try to find nice places where to eat our kind of food, cooked in the right way and is not all the time so easy to find them. I like to go and beeing served from Italian waitress, not just becouse so I can have a chat but also because this is what I expect from an Italian Restaurant

For this reason I have to say that The Amarone Restaurant was really superb, very nice wine and a very warm and friendly atmosfere,by the way we did not booked and no problem for finding us a table ( and they even did not knew we where Italian )

thanks for this very nice experience we will for sure repet the experience and come back bringing some Scottish friends to enjoy with us this great place

Amarone....Where do I start - I am not normally one for complaints but my experience @ Amarone was a dreadful one from start to finish!

On stepping in the door, we were told there were no tables and when I asked "how long roughly do you think it will be on waiting for a table" I was told by the waitress " I dont know". We thought the restuarant looks nice and were really keen to try it so we went on and sat at the bar.

After roughly 5 mins, a waitress came up and said we have a table but it isnt the best table. So we went on round to the table and it was right next to the toilets. The minute we sat down we smelt this disgusting pungent smell. When we asked the waitress where the smell was coming from she just hunched her shoulders and said I dont know its probably the food. Seriously though, the smell was so bad I would hope it wasn't coming from the kitchen. I couldn't even point my finger on what the smell was, it was just really off putting.

We just had to ask if we could get moved to another table, so when moved the waitress rolled her eyes and took our drinks over to other table and dumped our food and drinks down.

On receiving the meals everything did seem fine until we took our first bites. The seafood was NOT FRESH, has NOT BEEN CLEANED PROBERLY & there was GRIT throughout the pasta. The risotto was over-seasoned & just tasted of basil. YUK! The thought of it now is so bad.

Once complaining, the manager took the seafood meal off our bill. However I have to say that was after us catching the waitress' attention on several occasions. We were never once asked " Is everything okay for you?"- The customer service was a discrace.

On asking the manager about the smell - he also looked puzzled and pretended he couldn't smell the smell! They must be immune to it!

On finishing up, we basically got our change chucked back at us & not even a thank you for coming. The whole time we were in the Restaurant was a joke and we still paid £17.00.

I really do no recommend anyone visits Amarone!
