Grill on the Corner

The food was atrocious. The service was appaling, extortionately over priced, did complain, fell on deaf ears, will never be back.
Just because it's in the well heeled area of the town, (ticking over nicely) people will get the just of this place.
Yes people, I'm talking about the Grill on the Corner of Bothwell St Glasgow

I met a friend yeserday for some lunch and she reccommended the grill on the corner, I had never been before but had heard good reviews from some of my colleagues.
Having now experienced the restaurant for myself I know that it was my first of many visits! the restarant was surprisingly busy for a Monday lunch and we had to wait a couple of minutes for a table but the food was more than worth the wait, I opted for the sticky beef salad and it was delicious.
I must also comment on the service which was exceptional, we never had to wait or ask for anything as our waitress was so accommodating without been intrusive.
I would recommend you try for yourself.

Just returned from a visit to the grill on the corner, first thing to do was sign up to be a member second was to write this review..
Overall food was excellent especially the steaks... I ordered medium rare and thats what I got , but maybe a little rarer than is normally served at others... BUT I loved it.
Service was excellent, our waiter (Callum) coped well with serving a lot of tables on a very busy night.
VFM was excellent ++ that was because I using the 50% off food offer.. At full price meal would have been about £85
Down side was it was a little noisy as the music was too loud , but only a little and it might just be me getting old and grey !!
As I already said I rate it high enough for me to become a member !!

Possibly the best steak in town, my friend and I went last month, I had the fillet and my friend had the surf + turf, both were divine, well cooked with lots of flavour. I followed this with their sticky toffee pudding, delicious, will be returning soon.

Awesome! Cannot believe i have found a restaurant that offers everything.
Service, EXCELLENT food, and it was a Tuesday night and there was easily 150 people dinning, not one table was free
Served by a young good looking guy goes by the name of Yarek, could not be more accomodating, knew exactly when to give us space.
10 of us for a family birthday 1st visit was recommended by a work collegue.... she says it's the place to be in the city, And now I understand why.
thanks to all as you where all working very hard.

Dined at the Grill on the Corner last night with my partner, 1st visit and certainly will not be my last. Received outstanding service from Aga and restaurant manager Anne was very attentive.
I had a fillet steak rare, and hot mushroom salad to start and my fiancee had Lamb kofts to start followed by again a steak which was Ribeye medium.
Both excellent quality, was really busy for a Monday night the place must have been full, or near too.
Cannot wait to go back..... my birthdays in two weeks maybe try the Kobe!
Thanks Aga and Anne we had a nice night.

Dined at Grill on the Corner on Thursday evening. Bar staff were extremely helpful and reccommended delicious non alcoholics cocktails for designated driver.
Waited over half an hour for our table which had been booked for 8pm. Waiting staff mixed up our meals with table next to us all night.
We ordered bread and olives to start, and waiter gave to couple at next table. When they advised him of mistake, he just moved it to our table...after it had been sitting on their table for 5 minutes and they had been touching it!
I was advised to have ribeye steak cooked medium but was served rare and extremely rubbery. Peppercorn sauce also had developed a skin.
We requested drinks but they came 20 mins after ordering. At the end of my meal i orded a coffee. Waiter places a saucer at the side and the cup at the other side of me, with spoon sticking out. He continued to clear the table alway beside myself and cutting me off from the conversation i was having with friends. He then lifted my coffee cup sniffed inside then asked if i was finished.
This used to be a lovely restaurant but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Check your bill as we were also charged for other people's food.

Reluctantly went out on a cold and wet Saturday night and found the Grill on the Corner.
We received a really warm and genuine welcome from our waitress Jenny.
The menu was varied and had an interesting choice - we chose the sea bass which was recommended by our lovely waitress - like she said...it was delicious.
I'm glad we found this restaurant, the food was good and just as important, the staff were professional, helpful and friendly. Thank you Jenny, you helped make the evening special!

I had a meal there with my fiance on sat (26/9/09) and after reading reviews I was excited about the food I was going to get. However it didn't quite live up to my expectations. Our starters were lovely and set a good standard for the main.
We both had the ribeye steak for main course, we asked for them medium but we got both steaks rare, plenty of blood! The steaks were not the best tasting and pretty gristly to be honest. The homecut fries were just flung onto the plate and a tiny bit of salad was put onto the steak, which of course had wilted by the time it came to the table. My little jug of peppercorn sauce was cold and had developed a skin.
The drinks were ridiculously expensive, especially champagne cocktails!
The atmosphere was nice, our waiter was nice but overall not worth the £80 bill for two.
