Upon arrival, the restaurant was busy so we were shown to the 'Lounge' a tatty, tired and quite frankly grubby place.

Drinks were incorrect, starters were forgotten, no cutlery was given. The staff, when any could be seen, were generally unhelpful and disinterested. I think they had forgotten about the folks decanted into the lounge area in favour of the shiny restaurant.

Flavourless, bland soup was followed by flavourless, bland carvery. Awful tough joints of 'meat' were described as beef, pork and ham, but to be honest, it was all inedible and indistinguishable from each other. Carved badly, they were left for you to pick up from the hot afterthought of a carvery serving area - the tightest corner of the restaurant, where everyone has to pass! No napkins were available to pick up your scalding plates, the sauces were stuck on a table which you had to fight back through the crowds to get to. Vegetables were the most grey, watery and dull selection you could imagine, lying in water, soaking and falling apart, and them you got to cover it with a tasteless lumpy gravy - but hey! It was only £6 a head - a further 3 pound if you wanted a return visit, for the life of me I can't see why anyone would want to, but thats the offer. I honestly found my 'meal' unedible and despite seeing my full plate and others on the table, the waitress merely picked the plates up and walked away, dropping more food onto the floor. We only waited on desserts as my children wanted them - 20 minutes later I had to ask for them.

All in all, a thoroughly dssapointing experience. Poor staff, dirty surroundings, awful food, will definately not be making a return journey.
