This is a very attractive restaurant with some interesting variations on the standard Italian fare. The staff were as surly as you would expect in any Italian restaurant, so you come to expect that. I had the sausage and beans which came piping hot and very nice indeed. It was a shame that the same could not be said about the main course. I ordered the Salmon Tagliatelle - I declined the black pepper (why do they always offer black pepper? Are they saying that the chef has not seasoned the food properly?) but I did ask for a little parmesan cheese. I was given a very disapproving look and was told that Iwould not be served parmesan cheese because it would mask the flavour of the fish! Even after I insisted, the waiter refused! OK, maybe one shouldn't have parmesan with fish, but for goodness' sake, I was the customer. Then, to add insult to injury, the Salmon Taglietelle was the most bland, dull dish I have ever tasted - there was no flavour that even the mildest parmesan could mask. When I mentioned this to the waiter, all I got was the typical Italian shrug of the shoulder. No apology and the waiter did not even have the courtesy to reappear after taking my plate away. I will not be returning.
